Well it's been awhile since I updated this! I've been really busy working and practicing with Ozai! The show is just 4 days away so we've been practicing a couple times a day! He is doing VERY well with holding his stack and trotting nicely. The problems we are having are that when we trot he watches me instead of looking straight ahead, and i am thinking he will break his stack when he sees the judge coming towards him. He is just a puppy and this will be his first show so it is all new waters, but I think we will do well :) Last Saturday we went to the "Paws in the Park" fundraiser for our local Humane Society and Ozai had a fantastic time! He got lots of lovings and kisses and treats and passed out for awhile after a couple hours of craziness! His ears look AMAZING and he is growing up so adorably! He is currently probably about 22 to 24 pounds, right in there, and since I had to measure his neck to order a new collar, his neck is 13"! My little boy is growing up!!

Ozai is doing fantastic with his stacking training! Today he held his stack for at least 20 seconds until  I gave him his treat and it was just all-around fantastic! Then we went outside and did some gaiting practice and at first he was acting a bit "hoppy" lol, but he got to work and did his thang! We found out that we will be able to make it to a show here in Michigan next weekend and it'll be Ozai's first show! We are suuuuper excited to get him out there to get his feet wet (and ours as well!) and can't wait to finally meet in person some friends and just have an all-around good time! The stitches also came out of his ears today and they look fantastic! Doc says to just do some 'ear massaging' to any areas that need a little flattening and we are good to go! So thankful for Doc Snider! Also so thankful I don't have to drive up there anymore! LOL! Hoping that the hubby will take some photos of stacking practice and video of gaiting practice this weekend, sometimes it's hard to get him to do anything (the hubby, not the puppy hahaha). We will be doing lots of practicing before the show so there will be plenty of opportunities! ALSO! I wanted to add that Rudi (my 2 1/2 year old blue brindle pittie) and Ozai were napping together and it was the cutest thing ever! Especially since Rudi is a stuck up brat and tends to be ridiculously rotten when she first meets new dogs. Not attacking or showing aggression, she likes to give cold shoulder and doesn't like her booty getting sniffed but she likes to sniff the booties. ANYWAYS. She and Ozai had a couple of stink eye showdowns (her giving him the stink eye, him giving her the hopeful eye) but they are getting over their differences (mostly hers, not his lol) and have been out romping in the mud together (much to mama's dismay) and snuggling up on the chair and shoving mama to the corner lol.

Well this guy never ceases to amaze me! Today the little brat actually rubbed his ears out from the tape! Rubbed his ear on my boss, out pops the ear! UGH! Gave me 5 heart attacks, I swear! Tried to tape it back up but to no avail, the craphead just kept doing it over again. Sooooo I called the vet and they told me to just cut the tape off that was held to his head so I did and ended up taking him up there and they removed the rest of the tape, but the stitches can't come out until Thursday. They look fantastic, they are just what I wanted and I am soooooo excited about that! Dr. Snider is so talented, he did a great job and makes sure you are able to ask all questions and he is great with the dogs as well. ANYWAYS. They look awesome and I'm going to attach a picture at the bottom! We practiced some stacking and he did very well, he stood very still and nice and waited for the treat! Then we went outside and practiced some gaiting, had some trouble getting him to slow down and trot nicely, he kept bouncing along lol. Then we did a little bit of training practice, he sat nice and pretty for me and then we went on a little walk, in which he drug along for awhile and then bounced ahead and saw people and got excited, and everything else lol!

Hello friends! Sorry it took me a couple days to get back here! You all know how life can be! Ozai is on his fourth day of no pottying in the house! I am so proud of him! At first I was super nervous because he just wasn't getting it, but he has come a long way in the 2 1/2 weeks that I have had him! With Rudi and Belle (my other two dogs) they weren't nearly as energetic as Ozai, he is go go go constantly! Running, jumping, biting the other dogs (they are not happy about that LOL), zoomies, naptime, zoomies, toy chewing, attacking water bottles, fetch, naptime, show time (where we practice stacking and gaiting), zoomies, running, jumping, toy chewing, training time, sleep for the night. He is nuts! LOL! Today I went to TJ Maxx to get a shirt for a wedding shower I had to go to, and right by the checkout was some dog toys! The little man loves toys and I couldn't say no, so I got on that was called 'Tug-n-toss' for $5.99! The price was cheap and i am impressed with the toy! It is shaped like a bone and made out of a tough fabric and he has been chewing on it and throwing it around for hours and he hasn't made a dent! Happy momma! It also comes with a tennis ball and a rope attached to the end but it was just knotted to the bone toy and he got that apart and chewed on that for awhile also. I paid more for a stuffingless rabbit that he popped the squeakers within 20 minutes!

As far as show training goes, stacking is going fantastic! He is fine with me placing his feet and we are currently working on him leaning forwards and staying for periods of time. It's currently only a couple seconds of staying but every little second counts! Gaiting is going well also, we have to work on him not hopping around for the treat and keeping next to me! He likes to be a slowpoke on walks and  instead of encouraging him to slow down next to me I am having to encourage him to speed up next to me and then when he gets next to me he likes to hop towards me because I have the treats lol. We are working on it everyday!

His stitches and tape come off of his ears on Tuesday and  I CANNOT WAIT! I am sick of yellin at me for scratching them and having to constantly watch him and rig him up with some tape from home.. he found out that rubbing against the bed/rug will make the tape roll back and then the base of his ear is poking out a bit and then i gotta flip out and re-position it and add black tape of my own and the doc puts on white tape so he is all janked up.. plus the black tape i put on doesn't exactly stick the best so at least once a day he has black flappy tape hanging around... LOL i will be very happy once that is all behind us!

Thanks for looking and I will be uploading a video of Ozai and Rudi playing tug together for a bit.. then he starts to get rotten LOL!

First post, summing it up!

Since this is my first post, I figured I would sum things up until this point! This blog is all for my lil guy, Ozai! He is an American Pit Bull Terrier, currently at the age of 16 weeks! He is an awesome little guy, a total spitfire that keeps me on my toes but I love every second of it! I got him from a good friend of mine, Bully The Kid or Christopher James as his name is on Facebook! VERY VERY grateful to have gotten him from Chris! September 6, 2011 my husband Christopher and I got into our car and drove down to Georgia to pick up Ozai from BTK! We left Tuesday after work around 6:30 pm and then got home around 8:00 pm on Wednesday! It was a crazy trip but completely worth it! His birthday is May 30, 2011 and we brought him home when he was 14 weeks old! My plans are huge for this lil guy but currently we are practicing stacking daily, as well as gaiting and general puppy things, like pottying outside lol. To finish, I will add some pictures of him that I have taken in the past couple weeks!
